NDR visits Lichtenheldt to discuss the impact of global crises on SMEs
What do global political tensions mean in practice for medium-sized companies? This question was at the centre of a day of filming at Lichtenheldt.
A team from NDR visited our site to gain practical insights for the NDR programme Panorama 3. Filming took place in our production facilities and on the company premises. The team also conducted an interview with our Managing Director, Armin Jentsch.
The conversation focused on the impact of international developments on manufacturing companies. Topics included supply chains, delivery times, purchase prices and energy supply. For companies with complex procurement and manufacturing processes, these factors are crucial for planning reliability and economic stability.
In the manufacturing sector, these challenges can quickly become tangible: delivery times may become longer, purchase prices can change at shorter notice, and rising energy costs affect cost calculations. This makes forward-looking planning, stable partnerships and a flexible response to changing conditions increasingly important.
The report shows how closely global events and operational processes are connected. As a medium-sized manufacturing company, Lichtenheldt was able to provide concrete insights into day-to-day business.
It is scheduled to be broadcast on NDR’s Panorama 3 on Thursday, 7 May 2026, at 9:45 p.m.
