Our company headquarters and production facilities are located north of Hamburg in the town of Wahlstedt. Our more than 250 qualified colleagues manufacture around 4,000 tonnes of bulk goods here every year. More than half of that is produced under strict explosion-proof conditions.

Our modern infrastructure, comprising state-of-the-art production, lab and warehouse facilities, ensures smooth logistics and safe storage.

We inspect around 1,500 production batches every year at our 500 m² lab. Every batch goes through rigorous testing to ensure consistently high quality. Lichtenheldt GmbH has its roots in a pharmacy opened in Thuringia in 1745. What began as a pharmaceutical manufactory under the leadership of Johann Nikolai Lichtenheldt has grown over the centuries to become a highly specialised pharmaceutical contract manufacturer. Since relocating to Wahlstedt in Schleswig-Holstein after the Second World War, the company has continued to grow steadily, shifting its focus to manufacturing liquid and semi-solid non-sterile products.

A key turning point in the company’s history came in 1984 when Hans-Joachim Eisele took over the firm and turned it into a leading partner for the pharma industry. Under his leadership, production capacities were expanded and the latest technologies were introduced – technologies that form the basis of the company’s success today. Lichtenheldt was one of the first companies in Schleswig-Holstein to be GMP and ISO-certified and continues to invest in the development of its processes and facilities.

Today, Lichtenheldt employs around 250 people at two locations in Wahlstedt and produces 35 million individual packages and around 4,000 tonnes of bulk goods every year. With a wide portfolio of liquid and semi-solid products and a highly modern production infrastructure, Lichtenheldt has established itself as a reliable and innovative partner to the pharma and medical devices industry.
